While recently watching a program on Feng Shui we learned that is supposedly bad news for your finances to keep your toilet seat lid open. Besides being good manners, keeping the lid down reportedly stops your money from "being flushed away" and improves the homes Chi.... I am not sure whether or not it really works, but it must have made an impact on Sean because today I came home and saw that all the lid in our master bathroom was down for the first time I can remember!

No harm in seeing if there is any truth to it I guess. Has anyone had any success with it? Let us know!

i dont know if it really does anything for your finances but it sure keeps the dog from drinking out of it! My Husband and I have ALWAYS shut the lid and we sure havent gotten any richer..but at least it looks nice!

LOL! My mom's Chinese and she is forever harping about this kind of thing. So it's always been lids down in our house, but that's more b/c seeing the innards of a toilet, no matter how clean, skeeves me out =]

Okay, I've been doing this for a while. Not because of the money factor but because I heard somewhere that mist from the toilet goes all over the bathroom. This means poo on your toothbrush! We have no financial problems, so maybe that's a nice added benefit?

hahah I dated a guy in high school who's mom believed this.

I have to say, they filed for bankruptcy while we were dating so I can't say that it worked for them :-/

haha! Doubt it really does anything, but hey, whatever gets them to keep the seat down!!

I personally hate touching the lid, so ours stays up most of the time, and yes, our dog Riley thinks it's her water bowl. But now the fear of toilet bowl particles floating around on your toothbrushes (as commented earlier) has scared the beejeezus out of me! Down it is!
