I am hoping that we will not be cursed with 7 years bad luck, but my beloved new oval mirror has done me the favor of eliminating itself from being an option in the powder room when it decided to shatter last night. It was very freaky and we still cannot figure out how it happened, but it looks like it just really wanted to be a chalk board...

On a super-duper-crazy-fun note I cannot wait to share some crafts that we made today! Rebecca and her absolutely adorable and funny sister, Jessica, Wren and I all had a good time at Michael's and back at the house doing Christmas crafts and sifting through old Martha Stewart Living magazines for new ideas. Yes, it is early, but who has time as it actually gets closer?

Hope your day was (un)lucky as mine~

Oh no!!! It was my favorite! But it will be cute as a chalkboard! Or you could just hang it over your existing mirror to frame it!

Jess and I just had the best time hanging out with you and Wren! I think you may have convinced her to come back...and this time we'll have to trap her and keep her here!!!
Can't wait to make some more Christmas crafts with you girls!!!

I think it may have wanted to be a mosaic.....mirror pieces make amazing art!!! Sorry for your loss, but you'll find something even better, you always do!!!

I love going to Michaels! It's one of my greatest memories of growing up...going with my mom on a rainy afternoon to pick up new projects! I can't wait to do that with Chloe when she's a bit older

Oh my! That stinks....if you out it back together-maybe some of the bad luck will go away! Be sure to watch for black cats crossing your path.

SO sorry, holly!! =[

It might have been a blessing in disguise though. I could totally see the frame being part of a chalkboard piece.

(Your framed chalkboard on your mantel inspired me to make my own!)

It wasn't after midnight, actually on the 13th was it? ;) I also kinda like the idea of painting and layering that empty frame on the current mirror.
If you really want another, I just happened to be in an antique shop yesterday- and way in the back corner upstairs I found almost an exact replica of that oval mirror with the curly frame, but it was really wood not plastic! I actually tried to take a photo (thinking of yours) with my temporary hand-me-down phone, so I'm not sure it has the ability to be sent from the phone yet or not...but it was pretty cheap, and I took their business card, if you just had to have another...I'm sure they could ship it.
Glad you had fun though, Micheal's is the best, I used to tell my mom I wanted a shopping spree to just that store as a little girl :)

Happy Christmas Crafting!
