Spring Wardrobe Additions... part 1

Come Fall I love shopping for a handful of new sweaters and maybe a pair of boots. But once I have those few items I typically avoid the mall or any clothing stores until February. I tend to be pretty repetitive in the Winter, it is so cold that you wear your jacket everywhere and nobody sees what you are wearing under the jacket anyways so why put forth the effort.
When I sense the first hints of Spring or enjoy a sunny day I get excited to toss the sweaters in the basement and bring up my blouses and dresses. The urge to get out the sandals hit me first back in December while we were on holiday and I brought home a pretty decent collection to add my Spring/Summer wardrobe. Then I went dormant until this past week.

Here are a few of the items I am looking forward to breaking out in the near future.
Photobucket
Whippy cake headband, Theory pink silk and chain tank, black Hanes tank, Hollister jeans.
Photobucket
I am an obsessive sale shopper. A good deal is all I need to feel good about bringing home new clothes. It honestly doesn't matter what the price is, as long as it was a good sale on something that I really wanted. This particular tank was a sale find at Saks, marked down to $30 I thought it was a steal but my excitement level went through the roof when the cashier took an additional 50% off!
Billow-y tanks and jeans are my go-to outfit most of the Summer.
Photobucket
This was a pretty recent addition from just this week, thanks to a huge sale at Forever21. My favorite outfits as a young girl were always baby doll dresses, and the resurgence of them in the last few years has been really fun for me. This one is a soft fleece and feels like wearing an oversized sweatshirt.
Photobucket
Forever21 dress (on sale for $4.99), Gap socks, Juicy Couture boots.

Photobucket
I am on the hunt for a new pair of Hunter wellies this spring and I am looking forward wearing it with those.
Photobucket
And another Forever21 clearance find!

Photobucket
Long maxi dresses are another favorite (basically anything romantic and girly make me giddy as you can tell) and this navy one was a staggering $6.
Photobucket
Forever21 dress, Jimmy Choo jewelled sandals.
With a long necklace I think this will be one of my favorite outfits this summer.
Photobucket
And because I didn't have time to snap more photos today, part 2 and 3 will have to wait for another day~
Have you started your spring shopping? What is on your wishlist?

Loving #1 and #3! Especially #3 - I love the girliness of it! I don't consider myself particularly conservative, but #2 is a smidge short for my taste unless it included leggings. But the socks are super fun.

Holly I'm loving your short hair! I too have just cut mine, since I see you posting about your new Spring attire - which I love by the way! - you should do a short blog on your different hair styles! I know it's not your typical blog post - but I'm very interested in seeing the ways you style your new shorter doo! :) just a thought!

oh my word... i love your juicy boots! they are to die for! so awesome! i have similar, not even close to as awesome though, boots from aldo.
that maxi dress from f21 is pretty wicked awesome too. alas, we don't have a forever 21 where i am... have to hit it up hard when i visit my rents down in texas. i love buying a ton of accessories from there. so incredibly cheap. like $4 for necklaces!
i am ALL about the deals too. i swear, it's like if i see a clearance price, i go crazy. clearance racks are the places i frequent. i so rarely buy things on full price. but then my husband thinks i buy things just b/c they're on sale and not b/c i need them. and well, yup, he's probably right! ;)

Love the clothes....nothing makes me more ready for the upcoming season than some new clothes to wear! I love the feminine clothes without being sickeningly sweet or looking like you're 14. Thanks for showing us!!! Marissa

Oops, watch out for the Glamour photographers, lol... that is a tunic, not a dress. You have great legs, but it is def a tunic and should be worn with leggings. The short hair is a 'do' though. I just love it!

OK, I like #1 minus the headband, #3 is very pretty, and I agree that #2 should only be worn as a tunic (unless you are in high school--sorry!)

how in the heck did Sean manage to decide to go work for a big company with your hot self at home??? :)

i am in.love. with every single outfit you chose and have decided since i can't make some of the changes i want around the house just yet (still too cold to paint in my garage) then i may just hit up Forever 21 for some wardrobe changes.

p.s. i'm loving your new hair more and more and MORE.

p.s.s. i LOVE the babydoll dress and think you ROCK it.

I'm going to go with "L" on the tunic and leggings. It is either that or got mixed up and should have been in the kiddy section. very cute spring collection.

Wow- I am loving that Maxi dress! It looks amazing on you too! And your jeans and tank outfit! lovely! that's my summer staples too! :)

Holly, thanks for sharing this. You look amazing in that maxi dress, especially with your new hair color! I'm a Northerner, too, so I always wear the same few outfits all winter and have a huge garage sale every Spring because I can't stand to see them anymore!

Thanks guys! I agree, #2 is short, but I think it looks shorter in the back because the mirror is angled (will definitely remember that in the future LOL), but I love mini dresses and probably only have a couple years left to wear them. With that said, I will probably chicken out and throw on some tights or leggings when it comes time to actually leave the house. Who knows~

But definitely check out your Forever21!

I love that maxi! I am going to have to add one with sleves to my list!

I posted a smidgen of my spring wardrobe plan on my blog yesterday: http://fascinating-kate.blogspot.com/2011/03/what-i-am-wearing-spring-2011.html

Mostly pretty preppy and girly, but I it is missing the boho edge that is slipping in too...

I'm with Liz - I love that you have F21 clearance clothes paired with designer shoes. It's all about balance, right?!

I LOVE all the clothes LaPosh has!! Great prices too!!

I LOVE your outfits as well! I wish I could wear things like you do but Im short, (5' 2"), so I cant get away with the beautiful long outfits you wear :( I Love the idea of a blousy tank with a tight one underneath... I might have to try that!!

i'm telling you, ROCK the mini dresses while you can, love. i'm a fan of them too!

now on to the "too much information" portion of this comment: i just make sure to wear "boyshort" underpants (yes, i'm 26 and say underpants, don't judge) that way if a slight breeze gets a little extra friendly under my mini dress, no one sees any more than they would if i was at the beach, or pool. ha! :)

That maxi dress is AWESOME!! you look GREAT in it!!!! I can't WAIT until summer too......we still have another month of snow in Colorado. :( I'll live vicariously through you. :)
