Ughhhh, the last two days have been VERY depressing. It was looking like Spring for a few weeks, all the snow was gone, and then we woke up to a whole new coating of white stuff the last couple days...

It definitely had me wishing my garage wasn't completely full, forcing us to park outside!
But a few things have managed to keep me smiling: Wren's hilarious new "fake" laugh, working on the laundry room, and these chairs.

As soon as I saw this chair I fell in love! It looks like the perfect spot to curl up with a book~
So off it went to my upholsterer...

and once it is done there it will probably head over my seamstress. I think it would look lovely with a cover like this:

or maybe something a little more romantic like this:

This chair completely made my heart sing!

The scale is an almost exact replica of this Shabby Chic chair, just a little bigger!

I think I like Rachel's suggestion of using it as an occasional chair~

And now we are off to pick up my lovely desk!

Sorry to hear of your snow. I know how you feel. It has gotten colder here in the Boston area. BOO!

I love your chairs. I come across chairs all the time that I love, but I too chicken to buy it and take it home. I always think it will be too expensive to reupholster them.

Love it!

Your new finds are great Holly, can't wait to see them all dressed up! We were just in Edmonton visiting family last week and my little one was hoping for snow but no such luck, guess we missed it by a week. Luckily we did get a little snow in Calgary that week. It's sunny and warm back home in Houston now.

You have a great eye for finding things!

Do you ever worry about bringing pre-owned padded/cushioned furniture into your home and what might be living in it?

Great chairs but I am totally eyein' up that dresser in the background of the 2nd to the last photo! The white-ish one with the gold detailing! I had that whole bedroom set as a little girl and now my daughter has it!! Some of the hardware has fallen off and the pieces need to be refinished so I can't wait to see what you do with that one! =P

Hi Holly, I must have your chairs twin! I too am going to cover it.And cover it in white. I would love to put a little pleated skirt on it and a big round monogram done in white on it's back. My chair say hi to her sister chair. Isn't that hysterical- we have the same chair ( different fabric).

I see in the background in your garage that you have a white and gold french provincial dresser. I grew up with a whole bedroom suite of this furniture from Sears (it is still at my parents' house). I'm interested in your plans to update it - as I recall, the tops are laminate. Thanks

Love both the chairs and the upholstery idea with the pleated skirt. I, too, noticed the French Provincial dresser -- I had a similar set as a young girl and still have the dresser to this day. I've been wanting to paint it so I can't wait to see what you do with it.

i confess that i am a HD fan, too! And I'm even older than you!

Those chairs are fabulous. I really like the "romantic" slipcover idea. I have a chair in my bedroom that I am so ready to cover, but I just have to wait a month or two since I'm on a little "spending hiatus" right now.

Love the chairs, but the one with the pleated slipcover is to die.for. Yours will be just gorgeous. I have so enjoyed my visit to your blog, thanks for all the inspiring posts!

Hey Holly,

When you're redoing the couch and the chair with fabric, are you only getting slip covers, or are you having the whole thing reupholstered and then covered?
