Great minds think alike! Many of you said that you also had galvanized metal buckets collecting your kindling beside your fireplaces, which was exactly what I had planned for my bucket.

We primarily use eco-logs, which are also piled in the bucket. But those aren't all that pretty so I also threw some logs on top that we throw on top of the eco-logs to keep the fire blazing. After all, I think it is probably still much greener to heat your home using the fireplace with a little wood than running the furnace all night. And we are fireplace people, lighting a fire at least once or twice a week!

Tune in tomorrow to see what follies my bestie Rebecca and I get ourselves into today on our trip to a few local flea/antique markets!

I really like the rustic galvanized tub all by itself, but putting the wood inside, placed at the fireplace was brilliant! I always just think of laundry when I see those, but, your idea has a really nice affect.

I adore galvanized buckets! I am collecting them to redo our walkout basement "party pad". I can't wait for spring to arrive so I can get to work!

Looks great!!! I've been watching your blog, dreaming of painting our great hand me down furniture so that it actually matches. My husband is from the "nice wood doesn't get painted" camp but I think I may have won him over by showing him your gorgeous painted furniture. Paint really is an equalizer, making nice 50's-70's furniture, great 2010 furniture and worth reusing rather than sending to the landfill.
