Heating up the kitchen

We are starting to seriously organize our thoughts and ideas for our kitchen reno since it will definitely be our most expensive and extensive investment for this house. Although our kitchen is really big, it does not have the towering ceiling heights that are so often featured in our favorite inspiration kitchens. To help keep the kitchen feeling open and airy we will be having a full wall of floor to ceiling cabinetry on one wall and then only lower cabinets in the rest of the kitchen with some open shelves for glasses and plates. We are lucky that we do have a lot of natural light in our kitchen, but we are still planning on adding an additional window so one wall is just solid windows and lower cabinets. Here are a few rooms that have really given us some food for thought.

Great inspirational photos, I love the industrial lighting. We demoed and remodeled our kitchen 5 years ago and the first thing I did was remove all the upper cabinets and change them to shelves. Best thing I ever did in a kitchen....has a great look!

Good luck with your project...can't wait to see the "after" pics!
