Fields of gold

Sometimes it feels pretty magical to find a little corner of the world that doesn't feel like it has been touched by time. When Wren was born we didn't have a name for her for almost 2 days. We knew her middle name, Berry, long before she was born because it is a family name we wanted to use and Sean had suggested Wren a few weeks back but it wasn't a stand out choice. But as soon as we settled on the full name, Wren Berry, for our yet-nameless baby we knew it suited her perfectly.

I remember my nurse talking to another mom, asking her what she named her baby boy and gushing over the choice of Lucas. When she came over to us and asked us the same question her response was a swift "Well isn't that outdoor-sy!".

But if I have ever met a little girl who loves being outside, it is Wren.

Whether it is rain or shine she would be outside all day long if she had her way!

I am always astounded at how at home she is amongst bugs, animals and plants. She is so in love with exploring every detail of the world around her.

I really wish it could be summer all year long because we have gotten to see such a fun, new side of our baby. She really seems to be turning into a little person, with funny gestures and little personality traits all her own.

Sometimes I wonder where she even learns things, because she will do things that Sean and I don't ever do. And she is always so proud of her new accomplishments.

I say this at home alot, she was sooo cute as a baby but boy is she FUN now. It is so hard to believe that just a year ago she was learning to crawl.
But I couldn't be prouder of the little lady she is turning into~
Even though she is just a big ham 90% of the time!!

If you showed me your little girl's picture and gave me 3 names to choose from I would pick Wren Berry for her! That name must fits her beautiful face! Poo on that closed- minded nurse!

Those pictures are beautiful, but how could they not be, with such a beautiful subject!
I cannot believe how much Wren has grown up since I started following your blog way back when!
I wish digital photography had been around when my Jamie was a little girl! I took tons of photos in hopes of getting a good one. It was painful sometimes waiting to get them developed! Those were the days!

enjoy all these wonderful days with Wren, they grow up all too fast.

Beautiful photos, capturing the essence that is the amazing Wren! Enjoy enjoy, these fleeting moments before she starts school....it's so fast and they're grown. She is adorable, sweet and seems to be really enjoying life! She does look more like a little person now, than she did a few months ago...Thanks for sharing this intimate part of your life!!!
She wears her name well!!!

She is so sweet! I loved how simple all these photos were, but they all showed a glimpse into Wren's personality. And I love her butterfly shirt and white sandals!

Aren't kids amazing... my two blow my mind every day! I always ask them "Where the heck did you learn THAT?" I love that stage where they are becoming more of their own person! We just decided our second is also our last and she is starting to walk.. Very upset that I am done with babies! But so happy to see my babies turning into people!

She is just the cutest! Wren suits her, but even more than that, it's a pretty - and unique!- name. Lucky girl.

Holly Holly Holly. that darling little Wren sure is something sweet. i love that you document her milestones along the way and enjoy her developing personality and little loves, like being outside amongst bugs and grass etc.

you've inspired me to document more of my little man so one day we can look back together and he may better understand just how much i adore him.

you're an amazing blogger, a dear friend, and an even better mama!

Love her name! I didn't realize Berry was her middle name - that's a family name in my family too. My mom was originally going to name me Berry Lyn, but my dad vetoed it. So now it's on my list for my someday girl. :)

She is just so adorable. I haven't visited in a while (catching up) but I can't believe how fast she's grown. I remember when she was born! Her name suits her perfectly. Simply pretty.

She will so appreciate having these photos when she's older...maybe when she has her own nature child. They are beautiful and so is she.
