Fashion Friday and our Giveaway Winner!

It has been a few months since our dream closet was finished, but I am embarrassed to admit that it hasn't been completed. What I mean is that I haven't found time to fit a dresser into my production line for myself, so my mirror hasn't been hung and I haven't installed my green crystal hooks. I'm on the slippery slope of decorating...

But I have been furiously adding to the clothing side of things. As I've mentioned, my goal has been to only buy things I absolutely, 100%, certainly will wear. My most beloved shirt of the last year has been a rolled sleeve safari style linen shirt I bought at Forever21 about 2 years ago. It is so comfy, and the button down style makes it a little more mature for casual days. But it has been worn ragged from the amount of love it received so I went on a mission to track down more safari style shirts.

I particularly love these ones because they are henley style shirts with buttons only halfway down the front. A couple are even dresses, and they've all seen a fair amount of wear already. Wren loves them too, mainly for dancing under.

This is where the dresser and mirror will eventually end up, but I love my $10 goodwill rack as well, so maybe it will go along the opposite wall. It is the perfect spot to hang dresses and I tend to keep my most loved items on it for easy access. The other thing we want to switch to are all wood hangers. The only problem is that they take up so much space, so maybe I will try and track down a nice style of metal or plastic hanger and convert us all to one style. It sounds over analyzed, even to me, but they bug me now and bug Sean even more so it must be done.

And a BIG congratulations to Emily Kate, who will be adding a new dress to her wardrobe thanks to La Posh Style!!

Drop me an email when you have a chance Emily Kate and we will get your dress out to you!
Thanks to everyone who entered and to La Posh Style for their generosity!

I love the collection of shirts!! Wren is the cutest!

I'm in the process of changing all my hangers to those slim line huggable hangers, they give me sooo much space! i love wooden hangers but they just don't work in my very limited space!

I love the blouses! I'd like to find some similar ones.

(I also love the wooden hangers but ended up going with the slim line velvet hangers because of space. They still look pretty nice (I got black). They fit SO MUCH more than the larger hangers. Just a suggestion, if you are looking for one.)

Have you considered "skinny hangers". They sell them at Marshalls/HomeGoods (don't know if you have those near you). They are felt, with a metal upper part. Your clothes don't slip and they take up less room. I loooooove them!

I have been on the lookout for a safari blouse for, not a joke 6 months now (every since I had to part with a dear gauzy white shirt of mine from Simon's in montreal about 5 years ago). where did you find yours? I ordered one from banana online but it was shiny (weird, I know) so that was promptly returned. If you can let me in on the secret I would greatly appreciate it! :)

Sounds like these skinny felt hangers are really great!! I've seen them around and never even considered them. THANKS!

Kim and InteriorGroupie, all these safari shirts are by Rebecca Taylor. Here are a few links for some of those ones:

Try googling a code for some of those sites or stalk ebay, that is where I tracked down most of mine!

I LOVE your closet!! Do you still smile every time you walk into it? lol

I use the wood and agree, the skinny velvets would work better for space.

Hey Holly,
Have you ever tried Huggable Hangers? They are on HSN and are awesome! They are velvet and space saving and while they are more than plastic, they are supposedly unbreakable, so probably worth it. I love them!

Hey Holly,
Have you ever tried Huggable Hangers? They are on HSN and are more expensive than plastic ones but are supposedly unbreakable. They are the slim, velvet ones that save space and that the other comments are talking about too. I love them!

It might be fun to spray paint the goodwill clothing rack a bold color!
