Like many things in our home, we are constantly rearranging and trying new layouts as additional paintings join the collection, and I actually have one that is yet to be hung (probably above the ornate frame at middle of the top row) but I just don't like the frame color so I will be painting it soon.
It looks like I need to break out the level and get them all straight again...
But it is really surprising how affordable it can be to do a wall of original art when you dig around at antique malls and thrift stores. I admittedly splurged on 2 of the paintings ($125 and $85), but the total is still under $500.
And because I know some of you have been waiting to see the blue armoire, I don't want to keep you waiting any longer.... unfortunately this is the best shot I have because it has already gone on to a new home! I think I should try and go back and collect up all the garage shots I have of pieces that went to new homes long before I ever had the chance to photograph them.
But here are a few from the last week that were about to come inside, but found new homes as clients dropped off other items!
The blue armoire, pre-bottom knobs.

This dresser went to a teenage girl's room and the blue armoire went to her younger brother. They definitely have one cool dad in my books!

These cute side tables went together, and will soon be seen in a lovely boutique in British Columbia.

Seeing them in the "studio" definitely isn't as glamorous, so kudos to all my clients who look beyond that!!

I love your ship wall! I have a collection of my own & I love them so much! Have you ever tried the scrapbooking glue dots? I use them all the time to keep pictures level - they are amazing! Also, love the new pieces - I love seeing them staged, but even in your work area they are gorgeous!

You amaze me. I don't know where you find the time to create such beautiful pieces and take care of a baby girl and a husband! You are an inspiration!

a little poster putty behind the bottom corners will keep your pictures straight! I had a photo wall in my old house that was a constant issue and my hubby puttied it all for me. He's a keeper.

I really like the mix of frames that you used on your art wall, and the blue armoire is pretty fab too.

I just stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago and am getting addicted to all of your beautiful redo's. I love the picture of your nautical wall and white buffet/hutch. You are inspiring and make me want to get myself some old ugly furniture to make pretty. I've only refinished something once - my kitchen table and chairs. It was a great find - $50 for the set. It felt good. All of the white you use is so beautiful! Thanks for inspiring!

Add just a tiny wad of sticky tack or similar adhesive putty to the back of the frame along the bottom edge before you use your level and they should stay straight longer!

I love seeing it all come together. I was totally inspired by your hutch in the pictures of your hallway today. Found a great piece out thrifting for a whopping $30 with gorgeous lines that I hope to do something similar with. I get so happy when I see you've updated your blog!

Love the new {well, I guess they're old since they're gone now} pieces! And in regard to your former post about what the hubby said...I don't think the color of the armoire is fab! :)

I LOVE those side tables... I want those side tables... Man, if there were anyway to snag those, I would. I have been looking for some "new" end tables for our living room. I would love to have something like that, however we really lack in antique shops or thrift stores in my area. Thanks for all your inspiration :)

Hi Holly, I have been following your blog for months now and think you do great work! You are very creative. Well, last night I was reading your entry on the blue armoire and low and behold this morning I open my mailbox an the new Pottery barn catalog has the "Charlotte Collection" and an antique blue armoire not unlike your own, with a hefty price tag of $1,199!

That dresser is going to make that teenagers room so chic ;) It really is something special.

And your wall is looking nice, do you hang them all on your own...any tricks to share? I'd probably need my husband to stand there and hold each one up and move it bit by bit till I liked their composition.
Also, I could have sworn your stairs had that great espresso hardwod, too; I must have imagined it.
