Continuing on the topic of Slipcovers...

I have yet to sew up a set of covers for the blue wing back chairs I picked up in April. Fast forward to June when I am leisurely browsing through Style at Home magazine and see an amazing store bought cover. On closer inspection it is only $99 per cover and after flipping to the resources page I am thrilled to discover it is sold at SEARS!!! I am thinking "this is it, how much easier can it be?". Oh how wrong I was...

I have literally stalked the Sears website weekly for months now, made numerous trips to multiple locations and called customer service countless times only to conclude that they pretty much consider hunter green to be the height of slipcover fashion. After another failed attempt at tracking even 1 down yet again this morning I considered my cause to be a lost one. It occured to me tonight that I ought to write both the magazine and Sears a nice little letter about the stress, hassel and frustration I have endured all in the name of these darn slipcovers so I whipped open the laptop and headed over to the Sears page to secure an email to send my scathing review to when on a whim I check the slipcover page and low and behold what do I see?
You guessed it (and they were even a little cheaper, at $89)! I think I ripped my credit card out of my wallet so fast that I may have melted down the numbers. 45 seconds later I was completely checked out and I am now patiently waiting just a little longer to see if these babies look as good in person as they do in a magazine.
Here's to hoping!

edited to address a couple comments:
Ok, I did a little searching and could not find them on the Sears US site either. The magazine that featured them is Canadian and they are only on the Canadian site right now. I am thinking I could not find them before not because they were sold out, but because they are a brand new style.
Here is the link to the Canadian listing, which may give you some info for trying to track one down in the US. If anyone solves this crazy mystery please share!

The Sears Canada link says this is a Surefit slipcover. For those in the US, I checked the Surefit website, and for some reason they do not have one by the same name, but they do have several wing chair slipcovers, including a Cotton Duck, which comes in natural (and other solid colors) for $49.99.

You might also want to check overstock.com, which sells many, but not all, Surefit slipcovers at a lower price.

Hope your order with sears goes Better than mine did! Two months ago I ordered blinds for our whole house, after 2 months, I still don't have them. I've had to place the order 3 times, and returned more blinds than I received. They cancelled orders without telling me! They didn't bother to call when items were discontinued, and I've made over 15 trips to the store, over 50 phone calls. They've screwed up the credit card bill and over charged us and not credited us for returns and have called me a liar. We've filed a consumer complaint with better business bureau and are in the process of getting visa to fix the financial mess they've made!

Hopefully, you'll have better luck!

Thanks so all the info Holly!!!

As for Superhero's issues with Sears, I am cautiously optimisitic as well. We had nothing but headache after headache when we ordered Wren's stroller from them and they repeatedly tried to give us a completely different brand, had to special order, etc. After that I vowed never to shop there again, yet here I am... So stay tuned to see if it ever makes it.

Those slipcovers sure are pretty! I've never seen them for wingbacks before (except in magazines but I always thought those were custom made). I almost want to get a pair and then I'll have a reason to find some wingbacks! Heehee

I found these (or very similar) at the JCPenney website... and yes, you can order in the US! I searched for Sure-fit wing chair slipcover in duck cotton (and this one also has the ties in the back). I was thrilled that they were on sale for $49.99 each and with a 15% off coupon code (PCAUTMJC), I got them for a grand total of $106.93.... 2 in Natural are coming my way!!! Thanks Holly for inspiring me to search for these here!

Hi I got one of those slip covers when I read your blog. I live in NB.
When it arrived I was so excited but imagine my dismay, the thing was huge!!! I have large old wing chairs but this sucker could have covered them both. Very disappointing but I wanted you to know.
