Can you be in love with a window???

Only yesterday I said that the latest dresser will most likely see some change of scenary behind it, but I had no idea that it would be today! Even though it is raining and thundering away on all the windows today, this window is nice and dry in her new home.
Checking out a local architectural salvage warehouse I saw this 6 foot beauty and knew she was the perfect piece:

We are working around some freakishly high ceilings here and LOTS of bare walls. I have been on the hunt for a HUGE cabinet to span the wall but this is even better. Once up on the dresser I have almost 10 feet of interest on a pretty bland wall.

I am sooo in love with this window that I am even considering eliminating the formal dining room and instead having a nice reading area off of the living room. Sean is yet to be convinced though...

Window love is the best! I have a few that are big like that, they wander all over my house.

This really shows the height of the room and adds a lot of character! Looks Great!

You are AWESOME, girl!! Love this vignette and what you've done to refurb that gem of a dresser!

Hello! Okay, well not only are you in love with your window, but I am in love with your window too! I can't say enough good things about it. Just fabulous. I rescued a bunch of old windows recently - figuring out what to do with a few of them.

Blessings,
Marie

Looks great! Do you mind saying how much it cost? I have never been to an architectural salvage yard and am curious about typical pricing.

i love that idea of a little reading nook! I'm thinking 4 club chairs around your round table....like these (but in white/light colors, of course)

Thanks so much everyone!
The window cost $75. Sean did his best to get the guy to lower that price but he told us that quite a few shop owners come in regularly for these types of items to use in displays. Looks like he knew his stuff! But I still thought $75 was a steal for such a big piece.

Wow, you aren't kidding! That really does help fill in those high ceilings! Those can be such a obstacle...

How is it mounted? I do realize that it's huge and probably weighs a lot too but I'm sure you have secured by something, right?

It looks great, Holly! I can see it with a big green garland and some ripped ribbon bows on it for the Holidays!
I was so excited to see your bowl full of candles is back! It was my favorite thing from your old house!

This is a great idea for the windows we're replacing over the next week, but I doubt I can convince husband to keep one of the old windows as decor. It was hard enough convincing him to keep the tree trunks as decorations :)

I love the pony head too. I had to have one for our living room :)
