This desk was painted a hideous brown but in great shape! No dents or scratches so I decided to do one of my rare un-distressed pieces. A glossy cream paint really brought it to life and shiny new chrome pulls add some glamour. The added touch of 2 label frames really make it functional and easy for kids to keep their stuff organized.
This would be the perfect crafting corner for anyone short on space but big on ideas~
This little was the little brother of this dresser. A few people have asked where I even find such damaged and dirty furniture, and the answer is through online classifieds. For older people who don't have the means to lift and dispose of old furniture that would most likely be turned down as donations it is a win-win situation. We come by and remove it for free, and in return we get potential filled furniture! Another bonus to having a truck~
Finished to match his brother, I am hoping they find a home together.

Wow, that desk turned out beautifully! I love all of your distressed furniture, but that piece looks amazing as well.
That is really amazing. I need to come up with another word because everything you do is amazing. :)
I can hardly believe it! I love them both!
You've really really transformed the both of them. They look wonderful now.
You did an excellent job on those two previously "ugly" pieces.
I love the hardware that you used and the labels.....so potterybarnesk!
Absolutely fabulous!
Two more masterpieces! Gosh you never quit, do you?!
Do you know I have an almost as ugly but not as beat up version of the nightstand-- I love what the new handles do for it. Where do you order your handles from?
Those pieces are fab! Really? on-line? I wish I was so lucky!
thats a beautiful desk! and i love that dresser/night stand set. you always fix up beautiful things!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your talent! Side note: where did you find the ribbon box on the desk? I need one badly.

I love it. As usual! Your work is consistently fantastic.
I love both of these pieces. You bring life back to something that has literally bitten the dust. You see things that I can't see.
Great job.
I love how you style all your after photographs! Each and every one is so stunning!
LOVE LOVE the desk!
I've been waiting to see this desk since you showed it a few days ago. I have a similar one in storage and considering painting it and using it in our sunroom/playroom. I'm having a hard time deciding on a paint color. Thanks for the pics. Can't wait to show the hubby.
Paint truly is amazing, that thing was U*G*L*Y to start and is now gorgeous.
gorgeous pieces holly!!! I love the hardware you coose and your staging is amazing!
I love them both! I love that hardware. I picked out similar black pulls for a desk I am working on. It has been so cold, and I have a few projects in the garage I want to get too. I am hoping to have a few warm and free days soon!!
Those look AMAZING. They came out so well! And your photography is professional quality! How do you get such great pictures??
That shiny "new" one really does look nice...just like something fresh from a catalogue at any fine furniture company!
I'm kinda surprised that kindof stuff is even advertised as something anyone would want, but what a great situation for you and the previouse owners! It's good they have people like you that can see beyond the yuck and want to come make it a treasure again! Not that it's all about the money, but it's pretty cool that it can be all profit whith the free "throw-aways" too.
Yay for rescuing that poor old furniture ! I agree your photography is really good.
I love what you did with the desk. I just brought home my husband's childhood desk that it identical to yours and am using it for my craft/sewing room. When the weather gets warmer I would love to repaint it. I love how yours turned out. Inspiration for me- I think so!
how have i never come across your blog? i have no idea...
love your stuff. i've been on a huge painting kick lately (read- i've been painting EVERYTHING white. i'm sure you know how that goes. and goes. and goes.) so it was fun to find your blog. i'll definitely come back for more eye candy!
You have probably answered this question before BUT are your walls really as bright as they seem? The white is beautiful and when you take a picture of a white piece of furniture up against your white wall, it looks GORGEOUS!!! What camera do you use? What paint do you use/color?
Pretty! I love the original hardware though. What do you do with them, do you ever sell them?
oh Holly, the desk is just beautiful! For some reason I think it is screaming for a table top size vintage gumball machine :)
My heart flutters everytime I see one of your beautiful transformations!!! And everytime I am so surprised at how great of a job you do!! And by the way I am loving the darker hair on you! You are one of the rare people that can pull off both! But the brunette is a very pretty change!
what color paint didyou use on the desk? semi-gloss??
gorgeous! especially love the last piece!
WOW, love that last piece!
