I promise I haven't been trapped under a pile of precariously stacked furniture (almost though!). I've just been busy with this little person.

Okay, and there has been a lot of this as well.
That is my "To-Do" list. But since that is all mine, I will do it when I please~
And tonight it pleased me to do quite a bit! I got to this guy:

And this guy as well as his big brother, an 8 drawer dresser. By most standards these would be considered unsalvagable... but they just needed a LOT of love~

I get a lot of questions about where I work, and while it is far from magical alot of magic happens here. I get to play, think, and create... all in one half of a garage. Dolled up in my paint clothes, an old silk scarf over my hair and a pair of old purple Uggs I usually feel surprisingly glamorous. Because I enjoy every minute out there mixing paint and patching up old knob holes, and because it is quite a luxury to say you can do that for a living.

Specially when your commute is a doorway away to this.

Aw that's the cutest Daddy-Daughter pic yet!

Can't wait to see your new creations. When you talk about practicaslly unsalvagables and show us peices like that...where do you get stuff that close to being thrown out? I don't picture even a thrift store selling something in that condition, or even craigslist people bothering to hope someone would want it. Do you ever save peices from curbside throw-aways? Just curious how such neglected peices are found before they get completely destroyed...which only makes it more exciting to see your transformations!

Oh one last thought- looks like you have a pretty, finished-garage...is it heated or anything, how do you work away so happily for long periods with your Canadian winters out there!?

LOVE the propane heater shot. Despite the heater, I would have thought that it would be too cold to allow the paint to cure once you leave the garage?

Oh that little Wren, she is just the cutest. I can't believe after all this time I am going to try spraying my furniture! Yikes! I am hoping I can figure it out...I may need you for a couple of pointers. Setting up my spray booth next week, so we will see how it goes! ;o) ~mary~

Can't wait to see what you do with the bedside table and big brother dresser. I am pretty sure that it is the same as our bedroom suite which I would love to redo. These are hand-me-downs from the ILs when we first got married. Been wanting to replace them, but life has gotten ahead of us on that one.

I am a big believer in trying to save things from the landfill. Thank you for not only creating pieces of great beauty but making the world a little lovelier for our children.

Your workroom looks about like mine! My sisters & I paint in old sweats and crocs. We are quite the lookers, but we have so much fun when we get in our paint room to create! Can't wait to see the finished pieces - I'm sure they are gorgeous as always :)

Out of all of the absolutely lovely posts you do, this one was by far one of the most beautiful. From you feeling glamorous in your workspace to coming through the door to your precious family- beautiful. And, now I don't feel so bad about having so much of our furniture in the garage awaiting me to get around to spraying it and wondering what our neighbors must think of us. :) Lol.

in the top photo of this post, there is (a smallish table perhaps a part of a nesting table?!?) It has gold legs, and probably has some scroll work at the top, What are you planning to do with that?? I have the same table!! And am very curious!! Please advise. Thanks :)
