November Candle of the Month

I have a tradition that I didn't even notice was a tradition until just this week. Some people treat themselves to one nice flower arrangement every month, others get a massage, I treat myself (and our house) to 1 nice candle every month. Like clock work I start a new candle at the beginning of the month and light it every evening for about 5 hours, letting the house soak up the beautiful scents. And so is born our new monthly Candle of the Month post!
Photobucket
You might remember last months candle, Wish by Lollia, which I was thrilled to find unopened at a thrift store for $1.99. I have no problem spending a few bucks on something that I enjoy every night for a whole month but it was an awesome treat to pick one up for that!
Photobucket
They retail for $32 and after more than a month of use (they average 56 hours of burn time) that little candle made all 2,200 square feet of our house smell divine, whether it was burning or not.
Photobucket
This months candle is Santiago Huckleberry by Voluspa ($18-$22, 80 hours burn time).
Photobucket
It is a nice, soft scent that isn't too summery. The top notes are huckleberry, vanilla pods and sugar cane. Plus the tin is a little moody and dramatic, perfect for Fall.
Photobucket
And it will be burning non-stop until December!

I love this idea! Fantastic! I've always been more of an essential oil and diffuser kind of girl, but after a recent holiday scented candle I received as a gift last weekend, I have to say I am transitioning to being a candle lover. Can't wait to hear about next month's candle!

I LOVE this candle, it is my favorite! And, once it's all gone, you can store something in it (I put buttons inside it) and everytime you open it up, you will smell that wonderful scent! I'm gonna have to start that tradition. I usually have a million candles around, but right now I don't have any.

What a wonderful post, and stunning photos. My husband loves me to pick up fall candles, mulberry spicy pumpkin pie kinds. But they do make the home smell divine. I love the oils you put in light bulb rings too. Have a wonderfully scented evening, tami

I am a candle fanatic as well! I completely understand. I am currently burning through 'Leaves' from bath and body works. I have another one already lined up for next month. :) Btw both of those candle brands are some of my favorites. YUM!

What a gorgeous idea! I have been racking my brain for a good idea to get a welcoming warm "smell" in the house. We live in an 85 year old house and it just smells old :( All the reed diffusers don't fill the room enough to get the breezy smell I have been hoping for. I think I am totally going to try your lovely idea.

That's too funny! We do the same exact thing in our house. Luckily I work in a Spa where we get fun new candles to try out.

Santiago Huckleberry is my all time favorite scent! I'm a little jealous at the moment seeing as I'm out. What I love most about that scent is that for someone who is sensitive to fragrance, it doesn't give me a headache or a stuffy nose.

Nothing makes a home cozier than a candle! I used to own a soy candle company and would you believe I am out! I ordered supplies and will be making candles next week. I will make enough to get me through the winter. I can NOT wait.
Have a pretty day!

I JUST burned up my Santiago Huckleberry candle on Saturday. I might see about keeping the little tin as a jewelry holder or something. Its so pretty. As much as I love flowers, I find myself splurging on candles more. Oh the flame!
