Photo Recap: Plum Home Party

IMG_8630

I feel like I am perpetually apologizing here for my neglected blog, but when I say this Summer has been crazy I am not joking! The flip is coming along really really well, days have been full, and I had the privilege of planning and hosting a party at my friend Jenna's shop, Plum Home + Design. We were having coffee early in the Summer, talking about how we have so so so many talented ladies locally in the blogging world and while many of us have individually met, there has yet to be a time and place we have all gotten together.

So we decided to make it happen!

We knew Jenna's store was the perfect party location! She is typically closed on Sundays so we had the whole store to ourselves. SOOO much pretty!

We had a great selection of fashion and design bloggers. The lovely ladies who made it out for the morning included:

So many talented ladies!

We had some absolutely fabulous sweets for all our sweet ladies, courtesy of my personal favourite:
Confetti Sweets! These cookies are life changing, that is all.

And for those in the group who favour donuts we had plenty of amazing creations from the insanely talented Mandy at Frickin' Delights. Yes, these are as amazing as they look.

We were sooooo lucky to offer up some goodies to all our ladies in these adorable Cake For Breakfast  'au revoir' totes.

The lovely ladies at Patina Jewellery had lots of pretty surprises for us, and a few giveaways for our ladies

I cannot tell you how much fun we had getting to know each other. And if you want to know about how small this world is, this is the lovely Nicole Ashley, who also happens to be the proud owner of my very first flip: Lexington! How crazy and cool is that? I could not be happier that such a hip, fun, creative person is living there.

The beautiful ladies all together!

I could not be more thankful to have had the chance to get to know and hopefully see a lot more of this awesome group of ladies. You honestly have no idea how much you have in common and how rich your own city can be with talent and creativity until you dig a little.

The goodie bags were a MAJOR hit thanks to all the awesome vendors who come through for us. We had  Pehr DesignsUppercase PressCake for BreakfastMy Daughter Fragrances,I Love the MoonUrban WallsElizabeth LynJustine MaPatina Jewellery and Swanson Design all provide their beautiful wares.

And here is the best part! We had an extra bag left and we are giving one away to a luck reader! To enter head over to Jenna's blog right here and enter for your own swag bag.

THANK YOU A MILLION to all the generous folks who made such a fun morning happen! And a big thank you to Jenna for being such a great friend and inspiring girl, and last but not least, all the ladies who came!
I think we will have to do it again soon based on the response we had, only bigger and better!

Summer Fun: Confetti Canons!

IMG_8524

You may already know this, but it was news to me! In the party aisle of our local dollar store they have party favours called 'Party Poppers', which are basically just confetti bombs. They aren't all that pretty but they are sure fun, and make any bash a little more exciting and festive. So I decided to pretty them up to make cute favours for our next backyard BBQ.

IMG_8452

They come in a pack of three for $1, which seems like a steal. To glam them up I simply glued my paper of choice around the upper portion of the canon and decorated as I saw fit.

Then comes the fun!

Partay time!

Sean turned 30 this past weekend! As usual, we try to make every birthday special and fun, filled with people we care about and cherish. When your home is filled with people like that entertaining is so stress-free and much more relaxed I find.

IMG_8226

Sean's birthday is actually on the solstice so we wanted the party to be filled with bright, sunny colours! Thanks to Astrobrights Papers we had so much fun getting party ready. I did some geode cake toppers.
IMG_8242

And had a blast creating a bright paper backdrop! This was so fun and easy.

Nothing over the top, just happy and bright since the sun was out until nearly 11pm!
IMG_8365

And one dollar store flamingo for good measure, of course.
IMG_8362

Honeycomb balls and paper lanterns from Target.

Wren and I had a lot of fun making the paper wall and getting ready for Daddy's party!

What can I say, we love a good excuse to get dolled up!

Birthday cake flavoured Peeps on donuts in our party colors made fun party snacks.

Thanks to all our friends and family who were able to join in celebrating the big 3-0 for this guy.

He always deserves a good celebration.

Alexis + Tom

 photo _MG_62571_zps7d2f8c74.jpg

We had the best weekend. The kind where you can literally feel the love! Our best buds Alexis and Tom tied the knot after a decade of dating. It was a long time coming, but so worth the wait. They are perfectly made for each other.

And their big day was sooooo 'them'. Fun, whimsical and care free.

Our contributions to the big day were some odds and ends and furniture. Our metal dresser made a perfect outdoor lemonade station. A few other pieces from around the house became the gift table, and another drink station as well.
I spy with my little eye...

Between the ceremony and reception there were snacks, champagne and croquet. The groomsmen and kids LOVED it.
We LOVED watching the kids give them a run for their money.

The reception was everything that define this couple: great company, amazing food and very sweet.

There were no centerpieces, just bud vases lining all the tables with everything from roses to ranunculus to succulents and berries. It was beautiful!

I loved the family-style seating! If you're reading this Danielle, I definitely don't think we had a chance to chat enough. We'll have to meet up again soon!!

The meal was AMAZING, and catered by the couple's favorite restaurant Culina.
We were all stuffed after. (perfect photo bomb Alex!)

But we easily made room for cake and dessert.

The dessert table was filled with baking by the Bride's mom and Aunts and it was perfect, homemade goodness!!!!

A few of everybody's favorite cookies by Duchess.

There was a brief downpour once we were all settled in and eating our dinner, but they do say it is good luck to have rain on your wedding day. Although these two don't need any luck.

The bride's beautiful bouquet.
