Updated Video Tour of the Living and Dining Room

I had a comment this week asking for an updated video tour, but I feel like narrated tours are kind of well, umm, awkward, so I decided to just do another video of the living/dining room like the tour we did last year (you can see it here). I find these hilarious to make (laughing at all my 'artistic' shots while editing can bring tears I tell ya!) but they do give a lot more perspective to how things are laid out and where different things you see in photos actually land in our house.

Thanks for the request Karen, and I hope you enjoyed it as well!

My Valentine's Card

This seemed like a cooler idea than a folded piece of cardstock.

Friday

It's Friday, and do you know the only thing that can make today even better? Cookies. Because I was surviving on a liquid diet from Sunday to the middle of this week (tooth infections SUCK!) I felt the need to go a little wild while Wren was at school with a cookie baking spree.

Warning, lots of cookies were harmed during the making of this. In fact, most didn't survive.

Have a sweet weekend.

ps- if you were interested in the cookie jar, I see it is on sale right now here.

Come take a little tour of the living room!

Sooooo, I've been trying to master my new camera. The movie function in particular is really fun, although I will admit that I have a ton to learn! Andddd the extent of my movie editing is limited to your basic windows programs. But even with all it's imperfections, I thought it would be fun to share a really really quick little movie I made of our living room! In fact, I am embarrassed to admit that I think this is my first ever video 'tour' of anything.

But I can already tell that I'm going to be having a blast getting better with this whole video thing.

My mini Summer beauty update

Hey guys, was a little bored and whipped up this video last week. I now realize I accidentally turned off the HD setting so sorry it is not very crisp... but I haven't had time to go back and refilm. I like winging it anyhow, feels more like a conversation than a speech.

As I mentioned before, I'm a rambler so apologies in advance (again) for the word vomit.
And another apology for the exposed tummy, my buttons were not cooperating either...

Seems like I have covered all my apologies, so let's get down to it, shall we?

I am working on our Lexington video tour as well,  but if you have any suggestions for vlogs or blogs leave them in my 'comment box'

Have a wonderful Tuesday my cookies!

You asked, I answered!

Hey Guys! I've been trying to get this up for a couple days now, but I think I've established myself as the least capable youtuber of ALL time. I officially suck and ended up just posting the whole, unedited, poorly lit, never ending ramble in it's entirety. I managed to blow my 10 minute goal right out of the water, but what can I say? I'm a girl who loves to chat!

Cue the broadway music...

If you were one of the few people who asked about whether I work out, I now realize I completely skipped that answer in my video so here is the details. My workout is that I run around like a chicken with my head cut off most days and realize around 9pm that I haven't sat down all day except to check emails or blog. When it feel like I've been particularly indulgent with my snacks I do get into a spinning routine for about 10 days. I feel like in 10 days I can see a lot of results from spinning for about 40 minutes a day and I do this 2 to 3 times a year, but for the most part I don't have a routine.

As mentioned in the video here are a few links, { this one } will show you my favorite shade of blue paint. And { this one } will take you wayyyy back to Wren's birth post!

Thanks to Sausha at Sweet Pickins, Bethany fom In This Crazy Life, and Sarah from Cozy.Cottage.Cute for doing some sharing on their blogs as well!!! It is so fun to get to know some of the faces that pop by here a little better (feels more like we're besties, actually!). If you happened to do a similar post just leave a comment below with a link address so we can all get to know you better as well.

Have a super happy day my daisies!

Summer Wardrobe

I am not sure if it a long weekend in the US as well, but us Canadians are enjoying a super fantastic holiday weekend. What am I doing to celebrate? Scraping old paint off bannisters at Lexington. Good times, good times.

But last night we took time out to party it up with some friends visiting from Connecticut for the weekend and my parents had a big party. Kids were running around, dogs were barking and a good time was had by all! Knowing that we had a little event happening this weekend, Wren and I picked up some items at the Mall a few weeks ago while grabbing the kitchen knobs for Lexington at Anthro (somehow a quick stop turns into me scouring the sale racks at H&M and Zara, at which point the whole trip turns into a day lost at the mall).

It may sound backwards, but I prefer to splurge and spend the bigger bucks on my everyday wardrobe instead of beautiful designer evening dresses. You get way more bang for your buck and really get to enjoy your splurges that way. And while there is plenty of crapola hanging around in stores like Forever21 and H&M, there is also quite a few decidedly pretty and elegant items. Ones that would take a pretty discerning eye to differentiate from high end labels. And with the sheer quantity of items you know how easy it can be to lose a day in stores like that!

So here are a few of the fun and cheap purchases I've made recently to jazz up my Summer wardrobe.

One of my "splurges" this spring was this maxi dress. I bought it at Splendid on our holiday back in March (sleeveless summer version here) and I think I've worn it at least once a week since then. It is comfy, soft, and easy to wear both to the park with Wren and to a movie at night with a girlfriend. I forgot how much easier life is with dresses...

A close up for some items from the video.
$1.50 flower chain headband (similar here)/ $5.80 suede+chain wrap bracelet/ $6.70 dream catcher necklace/ $5.80 neon+gold earrings

I LOVE the emerald color, and with some gold accessories it is perfect for a 70's greek goddess.
I couldn't find the dress online, but if you want to track it down for yourself the item number is  00038884

The cardigan (link here) was a last minute purchase, but I am glad I had it on hand because it got cool as the evening wore on. I actually didn't even take it off once.

Now get outside and enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

Beauty Product Reviews

YAY! I finally got Youtube to cooperate (I am really, truly computer challenged guys). I thought I would save myself some typing but actually caused a lot of extra work and heartache in the end so I hope you like it. Maybe someday soon I'll have some mad editing skills and create little cinematic masterpieces, but for now let's just chat about some of my recent beauty experiences.

In the event the embedded video doesn't work, here is the link.

Here is the close up of all the products I "like" (some are down right loved) for anyone interested. And be sure to let me know if you have any questions about the products!

Love, Peace and Tanning lotion my friends.

Shopping Haul Vlog

Hi Guys!!

THANK YOU soooo much to everyone who supported our run yesterday at the 2011 Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation's Run for the Cure. Because of your generosity we raised $446. I am over the moon with that and we had so much fun doing the run. I will have photos of us, along with 10,000 other runners that turned out yesterday to raise a combined total of $30 million dollars up in the next few days along with our 2 donation giveaway winners.

I have been busy trying to film a short Vlog with our recent Halloween party finds along with some other purchases. As you can see I have 2 videos to share, Part 1 and Part 2, and when you watch Part 1 you can see why!

It is still a learning experience using my Bloggie HD camera (thank Hill's!) so it wasn't until I uploaded my videos that I realized I should've filmed them on a different angle and in a brighter room. So sorry if the videos are a little small. But they are in HD so feel free to open in a larger window!

Some close ups of the items we're chatting about:

Our Halloween party invites, thanks Martha @ Michael's!

Bargain basement, cute magnets ($1.50/3 @ michael's)

Urban Outfitters magnet board in my office.

Party supplies!!!

What do ya think? More Vlogs, less Vlogs?

Hope you had a lovely weekend!!
