A new pad (aka project)

I really want to thank all of you for your patience as far as design-blogging is concerned as of late. This will probably be my last blog post from afar, and we should be back to our regularly scheduled destruction, contruction, restructuring, etc.... as of Thursday morning. The most exciting part of our return will be that while we were away my sister and fiance purchased their first home, and even more exciting is that they take possession in just a couple weeks and they have asked me to design their place!!! I am beyond thrilled for them. The best part is that they literally have NO FURNITURE so we are starting with a blank slate.

But the real test will be the fact that their style is a far cry from my love of stark white. Can siblings get along in this process??? I sure hope so! They love color and contemporary style mixed with a little boho-eclectic so what I come up with will probably be a little different than what you are used to seeing from me.

With all our projects at home that are dying for attention and my ever growing list of client projects we have made the decision while were here that we will wrap up all our "outstanding" projects (like the laundry room and guest room) but from here on out we just don't have the energy or time to tackle 100% of the renos on the home front. We will be calling in back up for all our next projects, which is probably a blessing in disguise because I am finding it ever so annoying to live with a toddler amidst drywall, heavy duty equipment and other various things that come with the territory for months (ok, let's be honest we're talking about years at this point!). So I need you all to keep me on track here until you see a finished product~

The first room we have started with a plan for is their new Master bedroom. They want grey, white and maybe a hit of marigold yellow. We are thinking of using some wall paper too, but I am really excited because I already have a fabulous headboard back at WhiteBerry that I have been saving and pondering over using a yellow on for quite a while. I can't wait to see it all done up exactly as I had in envisioned in a high gloss yellow!

Here are a few of our first inspirations for the room.

Here's to hoping the trip home is a little less turbulant with Wren!!

Holly,
I can't wait to see your sister's place. For yellow and gray, you might want to check out Mrs. Limestone's master bedroom:

I totally hear you on the destruction with kids. While I still do a lot of DIY, my major destructive project days were over when my first was born. No shame in calling in backup. It really makes life so much less stressful.

Good luck with your upcoming projects. I hope you had a happy Mother's Day!

Can't wait to see the finished project! Love your blog. Came across another blog post that included a gray white and yellow bedroom and I had to share:

This isn't my blog, just another I read that is pretty fun.

I just found your blog not to long ago, and when I was reading about the gray and yellow bedroom I wondered if you had seen the bedroom redo on All Things Thrifty. Just in case you haven't here is a link:

Good luck with everything you have to do!

Congratulations to your sister and happy furniture hunting. :) A whole house of furniture sure seems like a lot to me, but how blessed she is to have you to help her and her to help your business out as well. I always wonder how you manage to do all these projects with a toddler running around!
