Am I the worst blogger ever at remembering to update you guys? I have so many little odds and ends that I am supposed to show you but I always forget, until randomly I wake up one morning at 7:30 to the sounds of a neighbor mowing the lawn and when I look over to the clock I see two sketches that were supposed to be blogged about at least a month ago...

Thankfully I think you might like me still, because uhhhmmmmmmmmm well I guess because you are reading this. I hope.

Since you are so patient and forgiving I just have to make amends by sharing the outcome of this little update. Remember when I was up until 1am wall papering our master bedroom, giving it it's 4th makeover this year? And then I found these cute little sketches at Goodwill for $5 each?

I fixed the bigger frame with a coat of glossy black paint about 3 weeks ago and I am really digging the results!

I added a few other things to the room (hint: you can see one of them in this picture!) and should have a final reveal in the near future! At which point I am promising to the world that I will update our reno link.

I am also smiling today because it seems my black thumb is now a light shade of green.

You might remember that I scooped up these orchids on clearance back in January because their blooms were all falling off. But with a little love and a hint of orchid food I think I might have just coaxed a few of them back to life.

These stems look like they will be pretty full once they open up!

This is one small step for man, but one HUGE step for Holly

Those prints are so precious! It's amazing what a coat of paint can do to a frame...or anything for that matter, as your work aptly points out!

oh my gosh... you must have the golden touch. i consider myself a gardener, but have never been able to make an orchid bloom again. Dang it! the sketches look lovely too. also, i would love to invite your readers to check out the designer challenge i have going on at my blog. i know this might be a little tacky, but it will not disappoint. thanks for letting me share. next week we will have a designer whose aesthetics remind me of yours.

Can't wait to see the full reveal. Loving that lamp and the sketches are cute too. If you can coax orchids back to life you most definitely do not have a black thumb.

My black thumb says hello to your green one... orchids are not for the meek. The sneak peaks look great - can't wait to see the entire thing.

the sketches look so lovely! interesting how simplifying the frame made it that much more desirable. and great job on rescuing that orchid, so pretty!

oh, one thing I noticed, is you don't title your blog posts! so, when I tried to save one for future reference and to link to, I couldn't b/c their wasn't a title to click on :(

I love your orchids. I have a black thumb, too - and orchids scare me. I'm loving the white furniture!

And, you have to share with me what size photos you post. Or, is it your blog design. I love how big they are!

Good job on the orchids!! Orchids are my favourite flowers, but mine never bloom twice. Maybe I should try orchid food...

I look forward to seeing more of your bedroom once it's finished!

You are gonna have to share some orchid tips cause I got my first one last summer and while I have managed to keep the plant itself alive, it looks like my stems are slowly dying, every few months, a tiny bit of the tip of the stem starts to die...? Am I done for?

Love the juxtaposition of sketches with such a feminine room.

I have to ask, where did you get the lamp that is in the picture with the 2 frames? I absolutely adore it and am in the market for 1 or 2 new table lamps...yours fits the bill (maybe I can find a similar one!) PS-I love your decor! Very similar to my taste...white white white! hehe. Thanks!
