Today just felt like a vacation kind of day. We went to the desert, a tropical island, even back in time! All thanks to the Muttart Conservatory, a local horticulture center where you can enjoy plants from all over the world, with out the jet lag. It has probably been months since we had a day like today, one where neither of us did any work at all!
We had a lovely time at the gardens, enjoyed dinner at our favorite diner, dessert at Carol's Candy Shoppe, and hit babies'r us to get Wren a new car seat. And now we are snuggled up, ready to watch a movie. Definitely what we would consider a relaxing day~

It is hilarious that we were there to see plants, because all Wren was interested in were the rocks! It was crazy how excited she was about all those rocks.

Careful Wren! That plant has "Oweeees!".

Small rocks

BIG ROCKS

We hope your day rocked too!

Wren is so adorable!! This post reminds me on one I did about how we took my little one to a plane observation park and all she cared about was the mulch. Kids are so funny!

so cute that she's walking around! Isn't it crazy to think that in a month or so, both Isabel and Wren will be 1 YEAR olds?!!

I can remember when she was barely big enough to peek over the top of her baby carrier! She's such a honey pot!

Oh what a fabulous day! Sounds like you made some wonderful family memories today. Wren is so cute walking! She looks too little to be walking! My Lila has just started standing but I think she's about ready to take off! Well enjoy, nice to hear you had some 'down' time.

Dear Holly, How do I begin? I came across your blog last night in searching for fun ideas on painting a china hutch. I went through your entire blog...I mean all of it. I was up till 2:00 am thinking about all the good ideas you gave me for all of my pieces around my house. Then for the last hour and a half I've been torturing my husband in showing him the ideas I've found on your blog. We got to your kitchen reno and he said, "that's great babe, I really like that style too." Now he's off to watch ESPN. Figures!

Anyhow, thanks for sharing and I'll be checking back for more.

Thanks again!

Aw, your little birdie's so beautifully adorable :) And you really are a handsome family. Glad you had fun at such a pretty and relaxing place; reminds me of the Biosphere2 (b2science.org) near Tucson where I grew up, & other botanic gardens I always loved visiting. Happy Wednesday!

Your little Wren is so adorable! What a great family day! My daughter loves rocks too- she's 3 now, but she started around the same age as Wren. We now have a small "treasure box" full of rocks that she's collected from vacations, special outings, etc. that she still loves to sort and count and play with.

Cameron LOVES rocks too. Loves to eat them, actually!
