I thought I had lifted heavy dressers before, but wow! Nothing compared to the weight of this guy. I decided yet again to leave the trim and center medallion on the few that have them for two reasons:
1. It wasn't overly tacky and gaudy
2. In order to remove the center pieces I would have to remove the outter trim, which I actually really love.
So the dresser and I met in the middle and agreed on a simple paint job and distressing.

You never cease to amaze me w/ your transformations! And your photos and accessorizing are perfection.
AH-mazing.
The dresser is amazing, but I am still lusting shamefully over that window...*sigh*...
I agree the more interesting drawers look great at the top! Looks awesome Holly!!!
Another fantastic transformation!
I am SO on the hunt for an ugly dresser to redo!
Amy
Love those drawer at the top too!
Where did you get those pulls? Love them!
Wow - looks great! Did you spray paint this?
I was going to ask the same thing as a pp...where did you find those pulls?
I linked to this today. I found a dresser in need of a makeover for a good price at a thrift store today. Sadly, I do not have the space for it, or your skills.
I just LOVE your work.....and I'm super jealous that I never seem to happen upon such great finds as you always do. :(
You have been BUSY!!!
Very nice! I might try that with one of my mother's dressers. :)
I just love your blog. I rush over to check out your new projects while I am looking at my long list of favorites (you joined it!). I am currently living in Japan but can't wait until I live in the U.S. again and can frequent thrift stores and try some of these things out. It amazes me that you have such a vision for the pieces. You also decorate the pieces so beautifully and they look like they jumped out of the pages of a decorating magazine. Keep up the awesome work!
Holly,
I've just come across your blog and love it! Your work is nothing short of amazing! Very inspiring, you've got me looking around my house for something to paint(smile)!
