Thanks to Wren taking a 2 hour nap yesterday afternoon I was able to tick off quite a few projects! One of them being this $30 Goodwill dresser. As soon as I saw that it was made of solid wood and was a really good size I knew that it had a lot of potential for our family room. I love books and since having an actual library in the house just isn't gonna happen in the near future I thought it would be fun to make this "library inspired".
Recently somebody asked me what my workshop looked like (I think it was you Kelsey). My "workshop" is really where ever my fancy should like and yesterday I set up a paint studio on our lawn (very little clean up!) since it was so nice and sunny. The color I chose was a mismatched light, warm gray I found that really felt Martha Stewart-ish.
I had to splurge to get the hardware I knew would be perfect, 5 library card pulls and 2 knobs actually cost nearly twice as much as the dresser itself!

I can't remember how I found your blog but I love it!!
Wholy, Freakin Crap! That looks awesome. I can't even believe that is the same piece.
Wow-amazing!
Oh. My. God. That looks amazing! Did you have to use wood filler for the holes, or did you just sand and paint?
So when did you say you were making a trip to Texas? :0) AMAZING!
loved it... really beautiful... sometimes i find myself hard to image the change... want to see the coffee table as well....
Wow. That is amazing. It seriously looks like a picture out of a magazine. WOW!
Gosh, this is a stunning transformation!! Straight out of a magazine indeed!

Just beautiful! Love the labeled pulls. You rock!
It looks incredible. Wow. How many coats of paint do you do? When I painted my desk it took one coat of primer and like 4 coats of paint and felt like I was painting forever.

You have inspired me to go troll craigslist for a piece to make over! :) Loooove your blog! :)

Love the pulls! Just gorgeous!
Looks incredible. I think your white anything just pops against the dark stained hardwoods (which makes me drool). I don't ever get things like this done when the kids are napping. Good for you! xoxo
I love this!! We have an antique dresser and table we need to paint/refinish--any tips? I've read different things online, and it seems sooo daunting. Please share your secrets!!
Omg! Holly that looks fantastic! Once you are done with your projects, you should start a bussiness redoing furniture. Thanks for sharing!

Everything looks beautiful!!! Do you paint everything by hand or do you have a automatic painter? Also, do you sand everything first before painting it? Love your blog. Very inspirational!

I literally gasped when I saw the "after". It is amazing!!! I had to go back to the before to see if you had changed the drawers or something. I'm in LOVE with the library drawer pulls. Those are now on my "must buy" list!!
I love it! I'm so inspired to paint everything in my house!
What a great job you did on the dresser! When my children were newborn and had two hour naps I read a book!! ha-ha! Beautiful blog. Becki
I love it!
You're so creative!!
I LOVE THAT COFFEE TABLE!! Its amazing! Can't wait to see where you put it!
Good Morning! First time visiting your place and love the dresser project! You have actually caused a dilemma for me... I rescued a hutch from my neighbors back yard that I intended to paint black (all other pieces I have done were finished in white) to be used in my foyer. After seeing this piece, my heart is again loving the white :)
From your pictures, it looks like you used spray paint. How did you make-over this lovely dresser?
Kindly, ldh
Oh my word! That is awesome!! It does look just like a magazine...so glad I found your blog!!! Came over from A soft place to land. :)
I LOVE this. Fantastic job!
What a beautiful redo! Do you know what color of paint you used? I've been looking for an off-white for my desk and I like this gray-ish white better than the "cream" whites I've been looking at. This is my first time at your beautiful blog--I might have to look around awhile!
That is so pretty! Great Job!
HiHolly,
dropped by from Kimba's blog.Absolutely love your library inspired dresser, it is just beautiful, and I love the way you
decorated the top as well. The hardware you chose was really clever. I love white furniture, in fact, I love just about anything that is white, accept white walls maybe. Have a great weekend,
Blessings, Nellie
The best part is those darling library pulls...Oh my word...i love it. Amazing transformation
Darling. I love the card pulls.
