We got our newly slipcovered sofa home today and she looks FAB! I will hopefully have some pictures for you all in the days to come as we rearrange everything to fit it in~

Tonight I will be painting some chairs for various clients, as well as working on this really unique easal I picked up at the auction on Sunday. I think it is just so neat and will be perfect in a corner somewhere either holding a beautiful painting, or just as it is.


If I have some time I will try to work on this gorgeous antique mirrored table, also from the auction. I love the garland detail, as well as the stains and imperfections of the old mirror.

I am just dying to get this guy repainted! The crazy green paint and glazed finish really are hideous.

Is it kind of sad that I am already referring to this guy as my crown jewel? Everything about it is just perfect! From the woodwork, to the pullout leather writing desk it is just amazing.

I am actually toying with the idea of just painting over the green interior and leaving the time worn wood finish. It is really scuffed, particularly on the bottom, but I love the idea of leaving that as part of it's character. But you know me, once I start with the paint I can't stop!!!

OOooh I just opened my inbox to see these photos from my seamstress! I get to pick up my sofa and her fancy new dress (aka slipcover) tomorrow~

Now the debate will be on whether we should leave the wood feet as is, or paint them an old grey???

This weekend Wren attended her very first auction. Sean, Wren, my Dad and I all hopped in the car at 10 am to register and view the items on the docket. As soon as I walked in my eyes immediately registered this beautiful antique Chippendale (spelling??) library cabinet. This security camera shot really doesn't do it justice but I am sure you can see why it held my attention and kept me bidding unitil 4:30 in the afternoon to make sure I didn't miss out!


My next find was a lot of 5 chairs, all different and in various states of disrepair. You can see them at the top of this picture, but unfortunately they were not destined to be mine...

But the awful old green Baetz coffee table was! If all goes well in the paint studio I may not have to chop down that kitchen table I was telling you about.

We scored a bunch of goodies, including a new addition to the "Sea wall". And yes, the cabinet came home with us.

I will try and share the other interesting items in the next day or so, depending on how much dry wall we get done today in the laundry room (we have chipped up all the tiles and removed all the closet framing), and how much painting I get through tonight!
