This week there are lots of random doors and shelves that came from an armoire so large that the owner had it disassembled before arriving. So 4 doors, 3 side panels, a top and bottom and 24 shelves later it looks like I run an assembly line of sorts. Also mixed in are coffee tables, 3 dressers, a bed frame, a kitchen table and a glass display cabinet. And as soon as this all clears out it will start to pile back up before the beginning of next week when the cycle starts over again~It just so happened that this week everyone wanted white!
And I have to tell you that I nearly lost my life just taking these 2 photos. I am still shaking just thinking about it. As I was standing there shooting the last shot I heard a strange sound. I had a bad feeling and so I slowly turned around to see a WOLF standing about 12 feet away. My heart started racing and I didn't know whether to run for my life or play dead!
I decided to bolt for the front door and sure enough he charged after me and I just managed to slam the door within miliseconds of him catching me. Sean couldn't see him at first and was wondering what the heck I did to myself (I was sobbing hysterically at this point). When he opened the garage he saw it and make a noise to scare it, causing it to run away. He insists that it was some sort of husky or something but I am 100000% convinced it was a wolf.
So if you see a news report about an escaped wolf from the zoo or something let me know so I can prove to him that's what it was~
OMIGOSH you poor thing!!! That'd be so scary! Thank God you're a fast runner and that you made it before he did! That little round table is TO DIE FOR (pardon the pun) CUTE by the way! :)

Oh my goodness, how scary! Wolf or dog...it charged after you, girl! (I had a similar incident with a large animal and have wanted a taser ever since!)

ReplyDeleteAs for all the furniture...it looks great. A couple of pieces remind me of my childhood furniture...which my daughter still has.. It's got a million layers of paint on it too!!!

ReplyDeleteoh my goodness! you poor {lucky} thing!! my own dad just got a huge chunk taken out of his thigh by a dog a month ago {dangerously close to tender muscles and arteries} and it was just a little medium sized dog that luckily bit him and ran away. (it came from behind too - he didn't even see/hear it coming)

Whew you have no idea how stressed I was to leave the house a little later on with Wren! Thankfully Sean was with us and kept a watch out. I am not in the least afraid of dogs so I know just by how I reacted that it was definitely not a friendly neighborhood dog.

ReplyDeleteThis is why I'm glad I live on the east coast where our only wildlife are crabs, cicadas and the occasional snake. Those I can deal with. A wolf I could not. So glad you're ok!!

If you have a faster way to get the edges of the drawers painted without messing up the insides of the drawers i would love to hear it - please share your secret lol!

ReplyDeleteI have a table exactly like that large round pedestal table. I bought it from ebay and it's a yucky honey oak type colour. I've been wanting to paint it white but everyone tells me not to because I won't be able to get a good enough finish on it.
OK...freaking! I would have been screaming as well! Although surely a would have alarmed said animal. Sure it wasn't Jacob from Eclipse coming to check things out? Sorry...got Twilight on the brain as I just saw the movie last night and started reading the 4th book Breaking Dawn.

Whether it was a wolf or a husky or whatever, being charged at by ANY animal is a scary experience. Just glad you're safe!

Please - a wolf?!!! Wolves are actually on the endangered species list & are very, very rare to see around neighborhoods! Did you know there has never been one single recorded attack of a wolf on a human being? Look this up if you don't believe me. They have gotten a bad rap from the movies & books. Please don't scare anyone with a wolf story. These creatures need to be saved - not to be threatened by.
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy! I have never seen a wolf for real, but I am guessing they are pretty large. We have coyotes and kit foxes out here in Nevada. And one night I was going to my car and saw a dog across the street and I said, "Hi doggy!" Like a dummy.
ReplyDeleteI realized in that moment it was actually a kit fox. Got into my car pretty quickly, but it was probably more scared of me than I was of it.
I can not believed the thing chased you though! Maybe it was rabid.
Be safe! And watch out for rabid husky/wolf hybrids.

How horrible of an experience for you! We have wolves up here where I live too! You're right they're quite large males weigh up to 144 pounds and females 110. I feel terrible for you! I'm scared to walk my dog on the nature trails in Anchorage because wolves do come in town and lurk on the nature trails that are interconnected to the raw wild.

ReplyDeleteAlex, I am not sure where you are located but there are quite a few wolves here. And Wren and I actually ran into a fox as well just a few weeks back coming home from the park. Even if there are no recorded attacks I didn't feel like being the first! Bears are also endangered but my uncle was actually killed by one 2 years ago so. Wild animals are always dangerous.
Thank God the baby wasn't near by!
