This is the dining room set I purchased along with the coffee table last week. One thing that really drew me to it was the surface of the dining table. I like the rustic quality of the planks versus a large, smooth surface.

I used a cream colored paint that has an ever so slight hint of greeny-grey.

There are four chairs, but I wanted to mix it up with the bench in there so 2 are on either side of an armoire also in the room.

The surface of the table was the only area I distressed so that the planks would still be visible.

The bench just so happens to fit perfectly on one side.
Love it! I love the mixed seating. Where did you get those slipcovered chairs?
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for planked table tops, I actually had my Dad make me a planked bench out of a forklift pallet.
ReplyDeleteThe grey 2 seater looks so nice with it.
I love this! The mixed seating is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Holly! I love seeing all your make overs! Keep up the fantastic job!
ReplyDeleteIs it ok to say my favorite parts are your beautiful flower clippings? The colors make it all so fun, pretty, bright, and springy!
ReplyDelete(not that I don't love the whole room...they just accentuate it!)
I found your blog several weeks ago and fell in love with your style (and Wren!). You have an amazing eye for "trash to treasure" and do a beautiful job on restoring/refinishing your pieces. I love doing that as well but have put my "creative juices" on hold for a while. Please visit my blog if you get a chance at www.graciossouthernliving.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

Yep, pretty sure I love the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!!!!!!! LOVE THE PILLOWS ON THE BENCH! THE WHOLE THING! YOU NEED TO WRITE A BOOK! ACTUALLY....A PICTURE BOOK!
ReplyDeleteYou are simply amazing! I wish I lived close then I'd have my whole house furnished with your beautiful pieces. I checked out your website...very cool! I have to ask, how do you advertise your furniture for sale?
ReplyDeleteI agree with all that was said before me...amazing. You have such a great eye and such great vision. I love all of it. I especially love the grey color of that bench. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Gorgeous!!! I love the mixed seating and the charcoal grey bench! So much to look at and I LOVE everything I see! I really like how you distressed the planks on top of the table! I agree with Sa-Sea Boutique and think you definitely should write a book about your style!!!

Are you freaking kidding me!? I NEVER would have thought that table could turn out so good. And I feel like I have a pretty good 'trash to treasure' eye. I ♥ that bench too! I think I'm going to do that as well! It is FAB!
ReplyDeleteI love every single thing about every single thing in your rooms, home, etc.

I adore this look... if you don't have a girl dreaming of an all white house, I don't know who would!?!?! I swoon with every photo!
ReplyDeleteIn the words of Rachel Zoe, I DIE!! It looks fabulous! =)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice when something you put a lot of effort into turns out so well? Love the mix of the chairs and bench.
ReplyDeleteAs always, Holly, your stuff is amazing! I'm getting to re-finish a table and 4 chairs I got for only $10 and I'm just wondering what you use to finish your table. I want it to have a high gloss finish, but I'm not sure exactly what to use on it after I paint it. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAs always, great job! Your home is so beautiful. I am in the midst of my first sand and repaint job (a changing table) and am finding that it is not nearly as easy as you make it look!
ReplyDeleteYou make everything look so great! I love this. What talent you have. I stand amazed!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI am usually all about color but your blog has me rethinking everything! I love the dinig room..the bench, the chandelier, the slipcovered chairs all of it positively swoon- worthy!
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome. I love the gray bench with the white table. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteit's perfect, love the bench with it!
ReplyDeleteI want to do the same with my set, but sanding in the curved ridges of the legs scares me.
Hey there, I've been reading your blog for some time now, and it makes me excited to design and decorate my own home someday This is absolutely beautiful, I love the idea of having a bench as part of your seating! Is this set up going to be permanent on your home, or is this another piece you were planning on selling? I am just curious to see your final dining room design!
ReplyDeleteI just love your style! I wish you were a local, I would use you services all the time.

ReplyDeleteI love it! I have been looking for a bench for my dining room but just can't come to grips with the price tags - ughhhhhh. Which shade of gray did you use? I've been thinking about using a charcoal gray but i'm not sure if it will work well with my cream table. Any advice?
ReplyDeleteps. I just love your blog. I wish I live closer so that you could help me find those great deals.
