My sister and her boyfriend recently moved into a new apartment so I thought a chalkboard for their kitchen would be a cute gift. I slathered on a quick coat of paint, stamped their monogram at the top and "notes..." at the bottom and distressed it. Eco friendly and all done in about 1 hour of working time, talk about a great gift idea!

Edited to add: Thanks to Katie we now know it was in fact Stacie over at the Creative Crate who made the amazing chicken wire frames. You can see her ingenious design here.

Wasn't that the woman who has like seven children (and one on the way) - she's very religious, and a photographer on the side?
ReplyDeleteCentsational Girl has been doing a series on repurposing old kitchen cabinets doors as well!

Oh WOW Jen, hers are amazing!! Love the centsational girl now too, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea. A shop here sells just cabinet doors for $4 so that would be a great gift for super cheap. I also love that amazing window you purchased. I think it is so awesome. And one more thing, we are renovating our kitchen and hopefully soon we will be making the vent hood cover. I hope it turns out as well as yours!
ReplyDeleteLove it! So pretty!

I just love you ideas. You have inspired me to add more WHITE and usually I am all about color, but I love the crispness! Where do you find your chandies? You have so many different ones.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog recently and lovin' it!
ReplyDeleteHey there! I was wondering if you could tell me which paint gun you use on all of your wonderful projects! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Gnome, we use the Campbell Hausfeld gun attachment for air compressors. I think it was about $29.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love it!!
